These are pictures from the MMRCA CHILI-DOG FLY-IN held 10/14/2006 at the Flying Tigers Field in Columbia, Missouri USA. Here is a link to the brochure.
The weather was nearly perfect, sunny and in the low 60's. There was a cross-wind of 10mph during the early afternoon and it was in the 30's early in the morning... chili weather!
These pictures were taken with my new Canon S3 IS digital camera. I RECOMMEND MAXIMIZING YOUR BROWSER TO VIEW THESE!

(These movies were produced using Microsoft Movie Maker. The 320x240 size
will run better on slower computers or those with limited bandwidth for downloading.
Most of the movies are also available in 640x480 resolution, when the original was taken in
that size on the Canon S3 IS digital camera.
I usually recommend right-clicking on the link, choose save to disk, and play the video ouside the browser.)
The Raffle drawing. President Jeff Paul says a few words... then Helen has her own name drawn. Fourth time for her winning the raffle. We may have to bar her in the future. (grin)

Short clip of Roy Seal's Dave Patrick Ultimate. The crosswind played havoc with most models today... causing more than one go-around.

A short clip of Jack Slaughter's Great Planes 1.60 Extra 300S coming in for a landing. Flown by Dave McDonald. Jack had replaced a gasoline engine with the OS 160FX glow engine... shaving off almost 2 pounds in the process. One of the problems Jack had with the model with the gas engine was landing hot. You can hear in the clip where he is surprised by how well the model slows down now that it is that much lighter. Made a new airplane out of it.

Mark Custard's prototype foamy. Flown by Dave McDonald for the first time. Many crashes and repairs have gone into the testing of this air-foiled foamy.
