Finishing up the Top
Wow, what a long time since the last update. I know it's hard to believe, but work has been progressing, slowly, but steadily. There really is not much excitement in posting more pictures of, filling, and sanding, and filling, and sanding, and glassing, and filling, and........ Well, you get the idea. As of now, all of the major glass work is done on the plug. It is now ready for primer, and final detail work, such as panel lines and corrugations for the flying surfaces. That however is going to wait, as attention is now turned to the myriad of smaller parts, to get made, so that we can learn the surface detail work, and the mold making process..
Below are a few shots of the last of the top's glasswork, taken in low light, just before wetting out with resin , to show off the great, smooth finish so far:
