Lou Hemphill Pavilion - Construction - Day Three

Photos and commentary by Andy Steere.

This is day three of construction (well... actually day 2 1/2 because it was a short day. It is October 8th, 2001 and the weather is sunny and breezy. Chilly enough that short sleeves were reserved for when you were actually working... you needed a jacket if you stopped. There were three of us this afternoon, with a fourth showing up later to help with the rebar (fresh meat, so to speak... the rest of us were tired). Not much comment between the pictures. All images were taken at the end of the day, from different angles. We got the floor's gravel all graded, the stakes to hold the formers driven, and most of the reinforcing steel (rebar) in place. Still need to nail the formers to the stakes and tie the rebar together, then it will be ready to pour concrete.
