Lou Hemphill Pavilion - Construction - Day Eight - BASICALLY FINISHED!!

Photos and commentary by Andy Steere.

This is day Eight of construction. It is October 28th, 2001 and the weather is in the mid-60's, but a bit windy. I had other commitments that prevented me from helping today... but I went out the morning of the 30th to see what had been done. The pavilion is BASICALLY FINISHED! Only minor things, such as guttering, are left to be completed. Very nice job! We owe our work crews, especially foreman Robert Perkins, a debt of gratitude!!! This will be nice for our upcoming annual Chili-dog Fun Fly on November 3rd.

This is a shot from the West end of the pavilion. The pavilion is centered on the center of the runway, so called "Show Central"... which is at the north end of the parking lot.

This is a shot from just outside the pavilion looking inside. Our poor single picnic table is pretty lonely in the new building.

This is a shot from inside the pavilion looking out toward the flight-line. This is too cool!

End of day eight.
