Ryan had some problems over the weekend. This plane was the result of an engine that quit at the wrong time (in a hover about 20' from the ground).

All modelers hate to see airplanes crash. I am no exception. The attitude that you see Ryan Mowery's plane in this frame is NOT how you ever want to see a model. Most of the clip is not pointed at the crash, and you don't actually get to see it hit. When I saw that it was in trouble, I lowered the camera. What the movie doesn't show you, but the commentary talks about, is the attitude the plane has taken... nose planted in the beans and the tail sticking straight up. The first plane that Ryan put in the beans went there from a radio-system failure of some sort. This one, which resulted in more damage, came from an engine that quit at the wrong time and the wrong place. Very sad.
